Rosa is an Indigenous woman who leaves an abusive relationship and migrates from her community to the city with her six children. Her journey is one of displacement, but also of transformation. Far from her roots, she must navigate a new environment and the pressures of a dominant society, while carrying the memory of the land and the culture she has left behind.

Her story echoes the experience of many Indigenous people displaced on their own territory, as well as that of generations of immigrants who have had to rebuild their lives in unfamiliar places. Uprooted from one place and asked to adapt to another, Rosa carries a complex inheritance of memory, loss, resilience, and hope.

Through movement, theatre, photography, and documentary video, ROSA explores the female body as a site of memory, identity, and resistance. The body becomes a place where personal and collective histories meet, where wounds and resilience coexist.

Conceived, directed, and choreographed by Carlos Rivera, this 60-minute dance-theatre work traces Rosa’s journey and the echoes it leaves across generations.
