Now in its third year, MTL Arts Accessibles renews its commitment to inviting audiences with diverse abilities and the Montreal cultural community to an event celebrating accessible cultural programming for the 26–27 season.

Held as a friendly ‘5 @ 9’ event across all areas of the MAI, the event highlights accessible shows and activities designed for deaf and hard-of-hearing people, blind and low vision people, people with reduced mobility, and neurodivergent people for the 2026–2027 season.

An evening dedicated to celebration, fun, sharing and discovery! 

What’s new

  • A new schedule designed to encourage interaction, discussion and appreciation of works by a diverse range of must-see artists (music, theatre, visual arts, dance).
  • An enhanced visitor experience for a 100 per cent accessible event.
  • The design and distribution of printed catalogues, tailored to different audiences, listing the full range of accessible cultural events for the 26–27 season.

Evening’s Programme
5.00 pm – 7.00 pm: Visit the kiosks 

7.00 pm – 8.00 pm: Animation by artist Maxime D. – Pomerleau and Performances by artists George Nti Williams & Jade-May Klaver, Carlos Eduardo Parra Duran & Alvino Alberto, Benoit Landreville. Visual art installation by Collectif Cummings & Pifko and projections by Véro Leduc. Live audio description by Georges-Nicolas Tremblay.

8.00 pm – 9.00 pm: Party and networking.

Accessibility
Interpreters: French-LSQ, English-ASL and ASL-LSQ on site throughout the evening.
Sighted guides: for people with visual impairments.
Cultural mediation: art therapist, artist.
Equipment available: wheelchair, noise-cancelling headphones, sensory objects and comfortable chairs (max. 500 pounds).
Four accessible areas: theatre area for visiting the kiosks + gallery area for activities, performances and visual arts + Café-Bar area, a place to eat + quiet space.
Performances: Live audio description of performances and accessories to access sounds in the form of vibrations.
