La Foire, a pilot project produced and presented by MAI (Montréal, arts interculturels), is a visibility platform and showcase intended to promote professional dance, theatre, music and interdisciplinary productions as well as visual art-based works by artists with an intercultural practice. This new initiative is designed as a unique meeting place for artists, presenters, producers and agents among others, and provides a setting for dialogue and exchange between artists through information sessions, conferences, pitch sessions, performances and exhibition opportunities.
Pitch Session
Saturday, October 20th – 1 – 3pm
The Pitch Session invites 6 artists/companies to pitch their new and upcoming projects to a wide audience of creative and contemporary producers, artistic directors, festival curators, presenters, and programmers. Each artist/company will have 10 minutes to share information about a work in progress or project in development (through power point, videos and / or an oral presentation). Your presentation can be in French or in English. Individual feedback will be provided by a panel of professionals through one-on-one sessions following the pitches. Minimal tech provided.
In-studio presentations
October 24th, 25th, 26th & 27th – between 3 & 6pm
Artists are invited to submit proposals for informal in-studio presentations – 1.5 hours will be reserved per artist – 30 minutes for warm-up and up to 60 minutes for the presentation. Space is available for up to 7 artists over 4 days in both studios for presentations of excerpts of works-in-progress, past works and / or a combination of both. Sound system provided.
