{"id":18794,"date":"2025-09-09T14:57:45","date_gmt":"2025-09-09T18:57:45","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/m-a-i.qc.ca\/?p=18794"},"modified":"2025-09-12T12:00:34","modified_gmt":"2025-09-12T16:00:34","slug":"job-offer-production-coordinator","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/m-a-i.qc.ca\/en\/2025\/09\/job-offer-production-coordinator\/","title":{"rendered":"production coordinator"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><b>Type of position : permanent, full time (35h\/week)<br \/>\nStarting date :\u00a0 end of October<\/b><\/p>\n<p>MAI (Montr\u00e9al, arts interculturels) is looking to fill the position of <b>Production Coordinator<\/b>, a permanent position within its team.<\/p>\n<p><b>About the MAI<br \/>\n<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">MAI is a multidisciplinary and intercultural presenter (dance, theater, performances, music, installations, visual arts, etc.) located in the Milton-Parc neighborhood in Montreal and has been presenting artistic projects in the performing and visual arts for over 25 years. MAI primarily supports and presents projects by emerging and established local and national BIPOC, disabled, and 2SLGBTQIA+ artists.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><b>Job Description and Tasks<br \/>\n<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Under the supervision of the Executive and Artistic Director, the role of the Production Coordinator is to coordinate a smooth running of the projects presented at the MAI. They are responsible for coordinating the projects presented each season in the MAI&#8217;s venues (gallery, theater, and caf\u00e9-bar) with artists, curators, and various MAI partners. In addition, they collaborate with the various MAI departments (communications, Public + program, technical team, accounting, artistic engagement, and venue management) to ensure the successful completion of MAI projects.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Furthermore, the Production Coordinator participates in the search for funding in the performing and visual arts, with the support of the Executive Director. In addition, they provide coaching and mentoring services to artists supported by the MAI in collaboration with the Artistic Engagement Coordinator, MAI staff and\/or external experts (production coaching, grant writing, strategic and technical advice, promotion, etc.). This person must be familiar with the Montreal arts community, its professional associations and the coordination of performing and visual arts projects\u2019 presentation.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Tasks<\/b><b><\/b><\/p>\n<p><strong>Programming<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Participate in the coordination of the annual visual and performing arts program at the MAI under the supervision of the Executive and Artistic Director.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Participate in the development of the MAI programming calendar.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Participate in coordination off-site programming, if necessary.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Draft contracts, coordinate insurance, and fees for artists, curators, and partners in the performing and visual arts projects.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Organize and attend pre-production meetings with the technical director and artists.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Manage accommodation and transportation, as well as welcome national and international artists and curators.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Manage tax exemptions and visas (for international artists).<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Follow-up agreements with producers and partners involved in presentation and production management.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Prepare posters, vinyl stickers, texts, and exhibition documentation.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Manage the transportation of artworks for the exhibitions.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Coordinate ticket reservations and update venue capacity in collaboration with the Box Office Coordinator.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Coordinate VIP invitation lists for all performing arts.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Attend dress rehearsals, premieres, and exhibitions openings.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Organize post-mortems for each project presented at the MAI.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong><br \/>\nAdministration<br \/>\n<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Help with grants writing for the selected projects, follow ups, and reports.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Create production budgets in collaboration with the Executive &amp; Artistic Director and the Technical Director.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b><br \/>\nConsultation and prospection\u00a0<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Help with the coordination of annual calls for artists and curators projects.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Update lists and visual art and performing arts applications.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b><br \/>\nRequired Skills and Qualities<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Various experience in the multidisciplinary arts sector<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Experience in project management (planning, coordination, logistics, evaluation)<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Excellent knowledge of the visual and performing arts sector in Montreal and Canada<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Strong ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet production deadlines<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Excellent spoken and written French, and good spoken and written English<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Willingness to occasionally work weekday evenings and weekends<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Ability to work in a team and under pressure<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Ability in working with various writing and image processing softwares<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Creative mind, take initiatives, and rigorous<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b><br \/>\nWorking conditions\u00a0<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">35-hour per week position<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Salary to be discussed based on experience and skills &#8211;
