December 4, 2021: 7:30 p.m.<\/p>\n[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][vc_column width=”3\/4″][vc_column_text]With degrees in both dance and psychology and trained in martial arts, yoga and coaching, performer and choreographer Heather Mah<\/strong> <\/span>has been active since the early 80\u2019s and has appeared in the works of Marie Chouinard, Gilles Maheu, Dani\u00e8le Desnoyers and Pierre-Paul Savoie. Her first major solo work, Pomegranate<\/strong><\/em><\/span>, is the fragmented portrait of a life scarred by migration \u2013 the imagined journey of her own grandmother, born in China in 1895. Inspired by her family history, the work depicts isolation, suffering and the search for new meaning, themes that reverberate within the greater migratory movement of the era. Created around the time of her 60th birthday, an age that corresponds both to that of her grandmother\u2019s death and to the stage of life when physical beauty finds itself usurped by experience, Pomegranate uses the fruit of its title as a prism through which to examine fertility and femininity, rejuvenation and resilience. Moving and poetic, this performance-homage takes the form of an intimate and introspective journey where past and present coexist.<\/p>\n

The 55 minutes of the choreographic work will be made accessible to all people who have complete or partial<\/em>\u00a0vision loss. Blind and partially sighted audiences will receive live narration by two audio describers: Enora Rivi\u00e8re and Georges-Nicolas Tremblay.<\/p>\n
