The evolution of the Catch Step universe continues with Beat Matched, a new chapter in their ongoing creative union. RISE, Djüngle, and VicVersa deepen their exploration of the art of remixing, where ideas and material are transformed without ever being lost. Past processes produce the materials that inspire, inform, and shape the new process. RISE and Djüngle delve into their own fields of interest as individual artists, as well as a collective. In this new iteration, the two artists find themselves propelled into the role of creative directors within a continuum composed of movement, sound, visuals, math, and (as always)… chairs.

Catch Step is a semi-recently formed group (2022) of artists: Anais Chloé Gilles/RISE, Delande Dorsaint/Djüngle, and Victoria Mackenzie/VicVersa. They are a group that represent multiple interests and experiences in the street dance scene. Following their performance of Never Not Moving, their win at the Montreal Hip Hop Games, and performance at the
International Hip Hop Games in Lille, France, Catch Step was invited to perform a full-length show at LaChapelle Scenes Contemporaines (MTL) for their 2024/2025 season. This was thier first official remix by guest choreographer HYA/Handy Yacinthe called “Catch Step HYA remix feat. Lunice (with EENO T and Magnanimous”.
Catch Step will soon be stepping into a new remix project of cross disciplinary explorations, focusing not only on dance, but on musical composition, digital accompaniment in live performance, and event coordination.Credits+
